K&A Emerges as Thunder Bay's Standout Split the Pot Location
Thunder Bay saw a wave of lottery wins in 2025 through Ontario's Split the Pot program, with one neighbourhood business emerging as a clear standout among ticket retailers.
Tickets were available at a number of familiar stops across the city and surrounding area, including Barb's Laundromat, Hoppers Variety, Dawson General Store, and Green Acre Variety in Kakabeka Falls. However, one location consistently appeared in connection with prize-winning draws.
K & A Variety & Restaurant & Gas Bar on City Road became the most notable Split the Pot hotspot of the year. Over the course of 2025, a significant number of winners were linked to tickets purchased at K&A, including multiple Early Bird prizes and a headline-making $274,809 grand prize won in August.
Beyond the excitement of winning, every Split the Pot ticket supports St. Joseph's Foundation of Thunder Bay, helping fund essential equipment and programs that enhance local patient care. As the program continues into 2026, attention now turns to which local retailer will become the next lucky location.
