More than Just Equipment
While the dollars raised by St. Joseph's Foundation are designated to purchase needed capital equipment, the benefits extend to everyone requiring the services of St. Joseph's Care Group.
Your Donations Help
- Provide comfort to someone spending their last few days with a loved one;
- Bring joy to someone regaining their muscle strength and mobility;
- Improve the well-being of persons overcoming addiction and mental health challenges;
- Ensure personal dignity by supporting independent living; and
- Provide the security of knowing loved ones are safe and secure in their homes.
With your generous and continued support, St. Joseph's Foundation will continue to assist the people of Northwestern Ontario. The money raised will benefit individuals requiring care, and their loved ones, now and in the future.
With an eye to the future, St. Joseph's Foundation has implemented a strategy to build and secure an Endowment Fund of $5 million. This fund will ensure long term financial resources are available to achieve our objective of supporting the ongoing work of St. Joseph's Care Group.
It is anticipated that the majority of the funds will come from Estate Gifts. Once the Fund has reached its financial goal of $5 million, earned interest income will be directed to the annual capital purchase needs of SJCG.
At St. Joseph's Foundation, we value and appreciate the support our donors provide. We respect their privacy and confidentiality. All donor records are kept strictly confidential; we do not share or distribute donor names and information. Names are not published without the express approval of donors.

Gifts in Memory or in Honour
To pay tribute to a deceased loved one, or to someone special in your life, you can make a gift in their name. A personal card of thanks and dedication will be sent to recognize the generous gift made in their memory or honour.
This option allows you to contribute regularly over the span of a year. Your donation can be charged to your credit card on a monthly basis, and a tax receipt is provided for the total annual amount at the end of the year.
You can name St. Joseph's Foundation as beneficiary for a specific amount, a specific asset, or a residual portion of your estate.
Many donors name the Foundation in their Will, but choose to remain anonymous. We hope you will let us know of your plans so that we can show our appreciation, discuss any recognition for your gift at time of realization (including keeping your anonymity if you so choose), as well as ensure that all your wishes are carried out.
To include a gift in your Will, please have your lawyer direct the bequest in favour of St. Joseph's Foundation of Thunder Bay.

Host a 3rd Party Event
A unique way to show your support of the work of the Foundation and SJCG is to host an event and donate the proceeds. This can be as simple as your family yard sale or having guests at your birthday party donate money in lieu of a gift, or you could organize a community event such as a concert, walk-a-thon, or other fun event.
All 3rd Party Events must be approved by both St. Joseph's Foundation and St. Joseph's Care Group, prior to the use of the organizations' name or logo. All event hosts will receive a tool kit with guidelines and conditions for hosting. To learn more about hosting an event, please contact Rachel Meyer at (807) 768-4404 or meyerr(at)tbh(dot)net.
